Mission San Antonio Archaeology - Past, Present, and Future
Mission San Antonio de Padua presents "Our Treasure . . . Shared" - a celebration of Education and the Arts. This new lecture/concert series is Open and Free to the public as our gift back to the community.
First in the series will be Mission San Antonio Archaeology - Past, Present, and Future featuring presentations by Dr. Robert L. Hoover, Archaeologist, who will share from his 30+ years of research @ MSA. Barbara Pence and her Associates from the Institute of Canine Forensics will discuss their role in past and future projects here @ MSA (and yes, the dogs will be here for a demonstration!) and Dr. Lewis E. Somers will present survey results from prior projects @ MSA and will show how history is still being @ MSA with the use of Magnetic Gradient, Electrical Resistance Surveys and Ground Penetrating Radar. Some hands-on experience will be provided for interested participants. (as time and numbers allow)
Lectures will take place in the Mission church and a light reception of desserts and beverages will follow.
Questions? Call Mission Gift Shop 831.385-4478 extension 17 between the hours of 10am and 4pm.
