  • Phase V Work Continues

    The seismic stabilization portion of Phase V (of our Five-Phase Project) was finished in February, 2020.While we are excited to have reached this important milestone, the work of "saving the Mission" is not yet complete. We are now moving into the Padres' Garden - the quadrangle. All of the water lines must be replaced in this area, the fountain needs to be repaired and restored, the garden needs to become much more drought-tolerant and much less labor-intensive.   Read More...

  • Phase V of our Seismic Stabilazation Project Begins

    If you haven't been out to visit Mission San Antonio in awhile, you may be surprised at all the progress we've made on our seismic stabilization/restoration project!After having to stop the seismic work and upgrades in 2018 due to lack of funding, we resumed work in December, 2018. Plumbing and ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliancy issues in Phase IV are currently being addressed. The seismic retrofit of the final phase (northeast end of the facilities) has begun.   Read More...

  • Edie Littlefield Sundby, Author of "The Mission Walker" Speaks at Mission

    We are pleased to announce that Ms. Edie Littlefield Sundby, Author of ​The Mission Walker, ​​​​​​​will be our honored guest at the Mission Fiesta on Sunday, June 9, 2019. After losing her right lung, Edie undertook a healing 1,600-mile walk along the El Camino Real de las Californias mission trail through the mountain wilderness of Baja California's Sonoran Desert and in California from San Diego to Sonoma.   Read More...

  • See Mission San Antonio on Redwood Kings TV Show on 8.7.2015

    The wonderful gentlemen of  Daniels Wood Land and the TV Show Redwood Kings recently visited the Mission and using reclaimed redwood, created a new cross for the top of the church at Mission San Antonio de Padua. This community-minded crew offered to help with the stabilization/retrofit project currently underway at the Mission and their efforts are so appreciated.  They have provided a vital element for the site and will be remembered into perpetuity.
